The Beaver's Surprise

Benny, a kind beaver with warm brown fur and a cozy red scarf, lives by a wide river. Each morning he gathers fallen branches and stacks them neatly, always ready to help a neighbour. On the far bank, Milly, a tiny field mouse with big round eyes and a blue ribbon bow, watches her friends play among the ferns. She cannot swim, and the river is too wide to cross. Seeing her worry, Benny decides to help.

He gnaws branches from a fallen willow and weaves twigs between them until a sturdy little bridge stretches across the water, just wide enough for tiny paws. Hootie the owl spreads the word, and soon other animals use the crossing too, forming new friendships. This gentle tale by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL shows how one thoughtful act can benefit a whole community. It is perfect for read-aloud sessions and can be read on Masal İzle.
