In a quiet corner of the great green forest, a small tortoise named Tilly enjoys calm days and unhurried walks. Her domed moss-green shell and gentle amber eyes suit her peaceful nature, yet tomorrow she will set out on a long camping trip entirely on her own. Her bright green canvas backpack, however, is packed far too full, holding three blankets, six snacks, a big book, a heavy lantern and a giant pillow. When she tries to lift it, the bag refuses to move, and her slow smile becomes a worried frown.
A tall sandy-brown hare named Hopper soon bounds down the path, wearing a light blue neckerchief and a small tan satchel. He kneels beside the green backpack and tips it over so the two can sort through the pile together. This warm tale by Çınar BİBER gently shows young readers how preparation builds confidence and how little we truly need to feel safe. It can be read on Masalcı Baba, and it suits children as well as anyone who reads aloud to them.
