The Rabbit's Blue Lantern

In a snug meadow bordering the woods, a small rabbit with soft sky-blue fur and a creamy belly chases a butterfly and comes upon a smooth blue lantern glowing beneath a bush. Wondering why it shines, she follows its quiet light, which seems to guide her toward places where kindness is needed. Along the way she notices Mrs. Hazel the squirrel sharing carrots with a hungry mouse and Mr. Oak the beaver mending a neighbor's roof after a storm, and with each good deed the lantern glows a little brighter.

The light finally leads her to Pip, a tiny yellow bird who has lost his song and sits weeping in a hushed corner of the meadow. The rabbit stays beside him, and other neighbors soon gather to offer comfort. This gentle story by Çınar BİBER explores friendship, empathy and community, showing how small acts of care can spread through a whole neighborhood. It can be read on Masalcı Baba and suits young children and the adults who read aloud to them.
