In a snug burrow under a large oak at the meadow's edge, a small brown rabbit with tall ears keeps a nightly ritual. On clear evenings he wraps his bright red knitted scarf around himself, takes out his little red telescope with the gold rim, and says hello to the moon. One night the telescope reveals something different: dark patches and wiggly lines spread across the bright surface, and the rabbit cannot tell what secret they hide.
He brings his question to his friend the owl, who lives in the old oak and wears small round golden glasses and a deep blue shawl. Looking together through the telescope, she explains that the shadows are craters and high mountains rather than monsters, describing how space rocks formed the craters long ago and how the moon moves around the Earth and shines with the sun's light. The rabbit listens with his ears standing straight, then begins a notebook of his own, drawing circles and triangles to remember what he learns. Written by Çınar BİBER, this gentle tale can be read on Masalcı Baba.
