Pip is a small cream-white rabbit with long floppy ears and a slightly frayed sky-blue scarf, living in a cozy burrow at the edge of a wide, sandy beach. He loves watching the waves, but he often feels lonely and wishes he had a friend to share the shore with. One sunny morning he finds a drawing of a flower with wobbly petals in the sand, and though nobody is around, he decides to draw a smiley face back. The next day the flower is gone and a curly-smiled sun has taken its place, and so begins a slow, curious conversation carried out entirely in pictures.
Pip soon realises that his new companion is invisible, answering only through shapes pushed into the sand by paws he cannot see. Their drawings often confuse each other, and remembering his mother's advice about patience, Pip keeps trying, learning to read his friend's gentle, curvy style. The story follows their patient, playful exchange, told in simple, warm language by Ebru Mina TOMURCUK and suited to young children and to anyone reading aloud with them.
