Pip is a small pika with soft grey-brown fur and a tiny red knitted scarf, living high in the mountains. When a travelling mountain finch named Finch lands on his sunny rock one spring day, Pip shares his lunch, and the two become fast friends. They spend the summer racing through meadows, hunting for seeds and singing songs, until Finch explains that the coming cold will force her to fly to warmer places.

Rather than let the friendship fade, the two decide to write letters. Pip turns to Grandpa Owl, who wears round spectacles and a green woolly vest, to learn his alphabet so he can send the first one. Through the seasons he practices writing with a twig and finds messengers among the mountain birds, learning that keeping in touch takes patience and persistence. Written by Çınar BİBER for young readers just discovering chapter stories, the tale can be read on Masalcı Baba and suits reading aloud at home or in a classroom.
