On a small snowy island, Pip the penguin discovers a bright red envelope between two stones. It is a letter from his best friend Finn, who lives on a distant island and misses him. Pip reads it three times, smiles, and sighs because he misses Finn just as much. He wants to reply immediately, using driftwood and a dark feather as a pen, but he faces a simple problem: who will carry his letter across the long, cold sea?

Just as Pip sits down on the ice, a snowy white bird named Pearl lands nearby. She is a petrel with long grey wings and a little blue satchel, and she flies letters between the islands. Pip writes his reply, Pearl promises to return, and Pip begins the hard work of waiting, watching the sky and hoping. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER explores friendship that survives distance, asking for help, and the patience of waiting. Young children and adults will find a warm story about letters and kindness.
