On a still, frozen shore at the edge of the world, a little penguin named Pim spends his evenings watching the southern sky. He carries a brass telescope to his favourite snow mound and invents playful names for the stars, such as the Dancing Fish and the Sleepy Seal. Yet the biting wind keeps interrupting his stargazing, watering his eyes and chilling his feet, and he longs for a warm, sheltered place to observe in peace.

One windy night a petrel called Pearl lands nearby, wearing a red knitted hat and carrying a satchel of tools. After Pim describes his wish, Pearl suggests they construct a protected observatory from snow blocks. Working side by side, they raise a curved wall, shape a snow telescope and add a roof. Sheltered from the wind, the two friends study the sky together, and Pearl introduces Pim to nebulas. Written by Çınar BİBER, this gentle tale about friendship, curiosity and teamwork can be read on Masalcı Baba.
