On a bright, cold morning, a little penguin named Pip stands at the edge of the icy shore in his cosy red scarf with soft fringed ends. He treasures the scarf above all else and returns to the same spot each day to watch the waves and count the floating pieces of ice. Then a sudden gust of wind rips the scarf from his neck and carries it off across the wide, glassy shore. Pip searches behind snowy rocks and beneath shelves of ice, but the shore feels enormous and he feels very small.

Just as he sits down sad and chilly, a young seal named Suki pops up from the water and offers to help. Together they follow a trail of tiny red threads along the winding edge of the shore, past tall shiny rocks and around a frozen puddle. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER shows young readers what kindness and teamwork look like in practice, and it can be read on Masalcı Baba. Its simple, warm language and gentle pacing suit bedtime reading or beginning readers taking on a short story alone.
