The Owl's Midnight Picnic

In the whispering woods, Olive the owl notices that her friends each experience the night in their own way. Pip the bat swoops and chatters, Fern the fox carries her lantern and moves quietly, and Hoot the hedgehog trundles through the leaves with his mushroom basket. Wanting everyone to feel included, Olive decides to host a midnight picnic and sends out invitations written on leaves.

She plans activities suited to each guest, from a flying game for Pip to stargazing for Fern and a rolling game for Hoot. Her thoughtful preparations also make sure each friend can enjoy the food in comfort, and when the moon-shaped cake nearly falls, the group works together to save it. Written by Çınar BİBER, this gentle tale about friendship, inclusion and teamwork can be read on Masalcı Baba and is well suited to children aged 4-8.
