In a green forest, a wise old owl with spectacles, a blue scarf and a small leather satchel keeps her most treasured item: a map of every path, tree and stream. One breezy morning, on her way to visit her friend the badger, she lands and discovers the satchel open and the map gone. She searches under bushes and behind rocks, but finds nothing, and worries she may not be able to find her way home.
A little squirrel with reddish-orange fur and a green acorn-shaped backpack offers his help. He cannot return the lost map, but he knows the forest by its landmarks, so the two set out to rebuild it piece by piece, from the tall oak with the twisted branch to the mossy turtle-shaped rock, the mushroom-covered log, the bluebells and the stump with a hole. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER follows their teamwork and careful observation, and can be read on Masalcı Baba.
