Otter spends his days along a wide, winding river, swimming, splashing, and chasing shiny fish. With brown fur, a cream chest, and a small green satchel with a brass buckle, he is always ready for adventure. One day, while digging near the riverbank, his paw strikes a flat stone, and a dark, secret tunnel opens before him. Curious but cautious, Otter wonders where it might lead.
Maple the water vole soon appears, wearing round blue spectacles and carrying a rolled parchment map. Together they decide to explore, with Maple sketching the chambers and marking every turn. Along the way they meet a family of field mice, cross a slippery mud path, pass a dripping cave, and find a clear spring. Otter learns to move slowly and carefully, especially when Maple warns him about soft ground and dark corners. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER can be read on Masalcı Baba.
