Beside a wide, slow river, Otter spends his days building things with his small, dexterous paws. When his friend Turtle wishes aloud that they could travel on the water together, Otter's amber eyes light up and he promises to make Turtle a boat. From the workshop beneath the willow tree he gathers his tool pouch and a stack of red wooden planks, and the two friends set to work on a project that will need more than one try.
The early attempts each teach something: a small round boat tips over, a longer one rides low, and a wider one proves unsteady. Through every setback Turtle stays calm and offers gentle hints while Otter measures, saws and hammers, finding ideas in the leaves and ducks drifting past. A shared picnic keeps their spirits high between tries. This gentle picture-book tale by Çınar BİBER, which can be read on Masalcı Baba, follows patience, friendship and the value of thinking a problem through.
