Ollie, a young otter with sleek brown fur, a lighter tan belly and a bright red neckerchief, lives at a quiet river bend. He enjoys collecting river treasures such as smooth stones, curly twigs and shiny leaves, and he turns them into inventions. One sunny morning he discovers a pile of colorful driftwood and decides to build a rainbow raft with a reed mast and a leaf sail. It looks splendid, but when he pushes it into the water it wobbles, tips, and sends him splashing into the river.
Sad and dripping, Ollie sits on a smooth stone until Beaver arrives with a twig pencil and a plan, explaining that a raft needs strong logs underneath. Duck paddles over to show him where to stand and how to keep his tail low for balance, and Frog hops out of the reeds to tighten every vine with double knots. Each friend offers a different skill, and Ollie accepts their help. This warm tale by Çınar BİBER, which can be read on Masalcı Baba, uses simple language and gentle repetition, making it suitable for early primary children at bedtime or for new readers.
