Otter lives by a quiet river winding through the woods, and each night he longs to see the stars from the water itself, close and all around him. One morning he sets out to build a raft, collecting fallen branches and long reeds and tying them with rope from his green satchel. The raft, however, wobbles, tips and spins in circles, and Otter learns that raft-building is harder than he expected.
Turtle soon arrives at the bank, his red scarf fluttering, and offers his help. The two make a plan for a bigger, flatter base, with branches side by side and every knot tied tightly and checked twice. All afternoon Otter loops the rope while Turtle tests each knot with his strong legs, and the raft grows sturdier with every branch. This tale by Çınar BİBER shows how careful planning and listening to a friend can make an adventure safer and more fun. Read it on Masalcı Baba.
