Little Seal lives in a snug cove where the sea hums softly under the ice. While digging for clams one morning, his flipper hits something hard: a brass compass on a blue cord. Curious, he ties it around his neck and heads out across the frozen sea, following the trembling red needle toward the distant ice. Soon the needle swings and spins, leaving him dizzy and unsure on the wide white plain.
A gentle voice hums from a gap in the ice, and a friendly narwhal with a spiral tusk rises to help. The narwhal shows Little Seal that a compass must be held flat and steady to point true, and together they travel north toward the Glacier Gate, crossing slippery ice and waiting out a howling storm. This warm tale by Çınar BİBER shows young readers how patience and asking for help can steady a frightening journey, and it can be read on Masalcı Baba.
