In a tall oak at the edge of a quiet meadow, a small round owl with soft brown and cream feathers relies on her two tufted ear feathers to hear the whole forest each evening. One morning a parcel brings a knitted blue hat, and she loves it instantly, pulling it down and refusing to remove it.

Before long the forest feels muffled and distant, and the woodpecker's tapping seems far away. Her friend the squirrel, in his green work apron with measuring string and wooden needle, climbs up and sees that the hat is flattening her ear feathers. Together they rethink the design, measuring her head, loosening the fit and stitching two red wool holes for her ear feathers, finished with cream trim. Written by Çınar BİBER, this gentle tale about listening and friendship can be read on Masalcı Baba.
