In a bright wetland whose water gleams like a mirror, a little rosy-pink flamingo carries a sky-blue reed satchel. Folded inside is her favourite possession: a map of pools, paths and tall green reeds, with a small blue circle in one corner marking a secret lagoon. One day she chooses to follow every line on it, and her best friend, a young spoonbill in a green explorer hat and muddy boots, quietly agrees to join her.
The pair cross the wetland past shining pools and a large grey rock until they reach reeds taller than either bird. The flamingo can raise her curved neck to see ahead but cannot see the mud below; the spoonbill can feel firm and soft ground with his flat beak but cannot see the path. Step by step they learn to work as a team, and when water blocks their way they find a dry winding route. Written by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, this gentle picture-book tale can be read on Masal İzle.
