In a calm corner of a large green lake, an old turtle named Tuck spends his mornings gliding through the shallows and observing how the light plays on the water. His shell is covered in moss and rounded like a dome, his amber eyes carry warmth and wisdom, and a soft brown satchel rests across his back. One bright morning he is joined by Pip, a young frog no larger than a plum, with spring-green skin, a tiny blue flower tucked behind one eye and a woven grass satchel at his side. Pip brims with energy and questions, and he dislikes waiting.

When a faint glow appears deep beneath the lake, Pip is eager to dive in immediately, but Tuck gently restrains him. Together they settle on a smooth rock and observe as the light rises slowly through the green water. Tuck offers watercress from his satchel and answers Pip's questions with the same calm reply: first we wait, and then we will see. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER follows a patient elder and an impatient child through a quiet mystery, and it can be read on Masalcı Baba.
