Lily, a small girl with warm light-brown skin and wavy dark brown hair, sits in her garden on a clear night and watches the sky. A streak of silver light falls into the grass, and she discovers a tiny kitten no bigger than her palm, its body glowing white-silver with faint constellations shimmering across its fur. She names it Twinkle, makes a bed from a scarf in a shoebox, and feeds it drops of milk from a spoon. The kitten follows her everywhere, leaving tiny glows on the floor, and Lily feels a warm happiness she has never known before.

As days pass, Twinkle grows restless and stares out the window at the night sky, its glow dimming whenever it looks at the stars. Lily realises her friend misses its celestial home. Packing her blue backpack with snacks, a flashlight and a map of the stars, she sets off into the woods behind her house with Twinkle glowing in her pocket like a tiny lantern. Along the way she is joined by the Moon Moth, a gentle lavender-winged guide who tells her of a sky-path leading to the tallest hill and a doorway to the stars. This tale by Ebru Mina TOMURCUK explores quiet courage and friendship, and can be read on Onlinemasal Com.Tr.
