The Girl and the Rescue Cat

Maya looks forward to Saturdays, when she and her mom bring treats to the cats at the animal shelter. On one visit, a small ginger tabby with three legs and a silver bell catches her eye. The shelter lady introduces him as Pip, and Maya feels an instant connection. She asks her mom if they can take him home, and when Mom nods, Maya's heart does a happy flip.

At home, Maya is determined to make Pip feel welcome, but she worries that his missing leg might keep him from playing like other cats. So she puts on her green tool belt and gets to work: a wooden ramp to the sofa, low steps by the window, a cardboard tunnel, and games of ball and hide-and-seek. This tale by Çınar BİBER shows how creativity and love help a friend thrive, and it can be read on Masalcı Baba.
