Lila, a seven-year-old girl with dark braids, lives on a small farm at the edge of a green valley. Wearing her mustard-yellow raincoat and red rubber boots, she spends her mornings exploring. One misty day she finds a chestnut-brown pony with a cream mane and a white blaze standing alone in the far field. Farmer Tom tells her the pony came from a busy place where nobody spoke softly, and that he is now shy and frightened of everyone. Instead of rushing him, Lila decides to give him all the time he needs.
The story follows her quiet, patient approach: shiny red apples, sitting still at a distance, a soft and slow voice, a gentle tune. Day by day the pony lifts his head, steps closer, sniffs the apples and accepts a soft brush. This picture-book tale by Çınar BİBER is written for young children and the adults who read with them, showing how trust grows slowly, like a seed in spring. Readers can find it on Masalcı Baba.
