Maya is a nine-year-old girl who feels most at home in the dark. Once her house settles and the stars appear, she pulls on her red rubber boots and mustard yellow rain jacket, fastens a headlamp to her forehead, and carries her camera into the garden. Her notebook is filled with sketches of beetles, spiders and slugs, and she is always searching for something she has not seen before.

One night, behind the old wooden fence, she finds a moth with silvery grey wings and white spots that shine like tiny stars. She photographs it and hurries to show her best friend, Ruby. The two girls ask their kind neighbor, Mr. Okafor, whether they may look for more nighttime insects in his garden, and he says yes. Over many nights they picture moths of every shape and size. Written by Çınar BİBER, this gentle tale of patience and curiosity can be read on Masalcı Baba.
