Mia lives in a small house at the end of a winding lane, and she likes to explore in her yellow rain boots and blue overalls. One sunny day she takes a path she has never tried before and finds a sparkling pond behind tall reeds, where a plump white duck with a cream chest and a bright orange bill paddles in circles. When she crouches down to greet it, she knows she has made a new friend.
But the pond is not as clean as it should be, and Mia decides to help. With a wooden stick, a small net and a collecting bag, she removes litter day after day while the duck follows her, quacking softly. She also asks her neighbor Mr. Lee, who keeps ducks of his own, what ducks really need, then clears broken branches and skims twigs after rainstorms. Written by Çınar BİBER, this gentle tale about a girl and a duck can be read on Masalcı Baba.
