The Fox's Winter Lantern

In the heart of the woods, where tall pines whisper and the first snowflakes begin to fall, a gentle fox named Finn notices that the forest paths grow dark earlier each day and the animals rush home, wary of the long nights. Remembering how frightening it felt to be lost when he was young, Finn gathers candles, wire, and a shiny tin can into his leather satchel and spends the day building a lantern with tiny glowing windows. When a small rabbit named Pip asks what he is making, Finn explains his plan to guide lost animals home.

That evening Finn hangs the lantern on a low branch beside the path, and its warm light pushes back the shadows. A tiny mouse named Nib, lost in the snow, follows the glow to safety, and word of the fox's winter lantern soon spreads through the woods. This tale by Çınar BİBER can be read on Masalcı Baba.
