The Elephant's Red Balloon

In a green valley, a young elephant with soft blue-grey skin and a yellow dotted scarf discovers a shiny red balloon caught in a bush. He ties it to his trunk and carries it home, happy to have something wonderful that belongs only to him. At night the balloon begins to glow, and tiny sparkles inside it show pictures of distant forests, rivers and snowy hills, making the elephant wonder what he has really found.

A wise owl with round spectacles explains that the balloon can carry messages to faraway animal communities, but its magic works only when it is shared. A small rabbit with a green satchel offers to help carry letters, and the two send a kind message into the sky. Replies soon arrive from many places. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER follows the elephant as he learns what happens when something special is kept too tightly, and young readers can find it on Masalcı Baba.
