Leo is a curious boy who sets out one sunny morning to explore the tall grass behind his house, hoping to find something no one else has ever seen. There he discovers a shiny white teacup resting on a flat rock, and inside it a tiny elephant no bigger than the cup itself. He names the little elephant Pip, and Pip leads him past sunflowers and under a crooked fence to an old, forgotten greenhouse, where a miniature jungle grows on a wooden table, with trees no taller than a finger and ferns curled like green lace.
Leo learns to care for the tiny plants with a thimble of water and soft scissors, visiting every day after school. When a storm rattles the greenhouse and the miniature jungle is in danger, Leo and Pip must work together, sealing cracks in the glass and sheltering the little trees until the wind dies down. Through this shared effort, Leo comes to understand that size does not matter, and that even the smallest friend can do big, wonderful things. This gentle story by Ebru Mina TOMURCUK is suited to young children and to adults reading aloud with them. It offers a warm tale about curiosity, responsibility and cooperation, showing how steady, everyday care helps living things grow and how courage is measured not by size but by what one does when help is needed.
