Leo, an eight-year-old boy who is shy around people but deeply loves animals, visits an animal shelter with his mom. There he notices Pip, a scruffy cream and tan dog hiding behind a blanket, frightened of everything. Recognizing a kindred spirit, Leo whispers to Pip that he too is scared of new things, and adopts him that very afternoon.

At home, Pip hides under the kitchen table and flinches at everyday sounds. Leo responds with patience, sitting quietly nearby and offering treats one small step at a time. Their first walk reaches only the corner, but each day brings another quiet route. Along the way Pip learns to trust, and Leo discovers that staying calm for someone else can make him brave as well. This gentle story by Çınar BİBER shows how patience and small daily victories help a frightened animal and a shy child find courage. The tale can be read on Masalcı Baba.
