Miles looks forward to Saturdays, when he visits the parrot sanctuary near his home. He walks the sunny path with his canvas satchel, listening to the chorus of squawks and whistles. One Saturday, Rosa, the head caretaker, introduces him to Pip, a bold and clever scarlet macaw who swings upside down and examines everything with a curious amber eye. When Rosa explains that parrots need puzzles and games to keep their minds busy, Miles is eager to help. Soon he is building safe chewable puzzles from cardboard tubes, plain paper, rope, and wooden beads at the workbench in the shade.

With guidance from Rosa and Tomas, the senior caretaker who knows each bird's habits, Miles learns that every puzzle must be checked for sharp edges and loose parts, and that safety comes before fun. His tube puzzle becomes Pip's first challenge, and word of his ideas spreads until he is visiting weekly to learn each parrot's favorite treat. Then a small green parrot with an injured wing arrives, frightened and in need of care, and Miles wonders how the team can help it without causing more stress. This gentle story, written by Çınar BİBER, shows how careful observation and simple, thoughtful ideas can make a real difference to animals. It can be read on Masalcı Baba.
