Leo is a curious boy who likes to understand how things work, and when his Gran introduces him to Pip, the smallest parrot he has ever seen, he wants to help look after him. Pip has emerald-green feathers, a scarlet patch on his chest and a bright orange beak, and Leo assumes that fresh water, seeds and a clean cage are everything a parrot requires. Yet Pip nibbles once, turns away and seems bored, and Gran gently points out that looking after a clever bird is only the start.

Guided by Gran, Leo makes puzzles for Pip: a box threaded with string, a small cup for fishing out treats, and a maze built from wooden blocks. Pip solves each one more quickly than the last, and Leo comes to see that noticing and answering an animal's needs matters as much as feeding it. Written by Aysel Banu YAVUZAL, this gentle tale about observation, patience and trust can be read on Masal İzle.
