In a small house at the edge of town lives Leo, a curious boy who spends his days exploring the nearby fields and woods. One sunny morning, he finds an old wooden barn and spots a barn owl near the roof, sitting in a nest box. Leo is fascinated by the owl's pale golden-white heart-shaped face and dark eyes. He hurries home to tell his parent, who explains that barn owls prefer quiet, safe places to nest. Together, they decide to learn more about these birds.

The next day, Leo and his parent return to watch the owl from a distance. Leo learns that barn owls need a safe habitat with a good nesting spot and open fields for hunting mice and voles, as well as clean water and places to hide. He visits daily, quietly observing and taking notes, and sees the owl glide silently at dusk and bring food to the nest box. When some kids startle the owl, Leo and his parent make signs with tips like 'Give owls space' and 'Don't litter.' This heartwarming tale by Çınar BİBER shows how small actions can help wildlife and can be read on Masalcı Baba.
