Pip is a shy pangolin with warm brown scales and a soft cream belly, living in a cozy burrow beneath a great oak tree. When he decides to host his very first party, his small heart flutters with worry. He tidies his earthen floor and sets out his best acorn cups, yet frets that his home looks plain and small next to the glittering lanterns and silken cushions he wishes he owned. To make the burrow feel special, he gathers shiny leaves, pretty pebbles, fallen feathers and bright berries, decorating with these simple treasures while still doubting his friends will be impressed.

One by one the guests arrive: cheerful Rabbit in her yellow scarf, slow and steady Tortoise in his spectacles and knitted vest, and bouncy Squirrel with a blue bow on her tail. Through hide-and-seek, a meal of acorn bread and berry jam, and homemade music on acorn caps, a hollow log and clapping paws, the burrow fills with chatter and laughter. Watching his friends enjoy themselves, Pip begins to see that no one misses fancy decorations at all. This gentle tale by Çınar BİBER can be read on Masalcı Baba.
