The Owl's Golden Library

High in an old oak tree, a tawny owl named Olive treasures quiet, shiny things and the stillness of the forest. One moonlit night she spots a golden glow inside a hollow in the trunk and follows a narrow stair of roots down into the earth. There she finds a secret library where books shimmer with starlight, though the letters dance and swirl beyond her understanding. Even her brass reading lens cannot make the words sit still.

Then a little mouse named Pip, wearing a blue vest and carrying a stub pencil, appears and offers to teach Olive to read the sparkling text. Night after night they meet, and word of the golden library spreads until a squirrel, a rabbit and a family of field mice come to listen. This gentle tale by Ebru Mina TOMURCUK follows friendship, patience and the sharing of knowledge, and can be read on Onlinemasal Com.Tr.
