The Little Fox's Promise

Felix, a little fox with rust-orange fur and a white-tipped tail, lives in a den under an old oak and spends his days roaming the woods. Behind a wall of ferns he finds a hidden garden with winding paths, small bridges and flowers of many colors, watched over by a gentle old oak. A wise owl there explains that the garden needs a caretaker, and Felix promises to look after it.

For a time he keeps his word gladly, weeding and sweeping the paths with his tail. Then a wild storm batters the garden, leaving fallen branches, washed-out paths, broken bridges and muddy flowers, and his small paws cannot manage alone. Bramble the badger and Poppy the rabbit arrive with tools and seeds to work beside him.
