Maya arrives on Rottnest Island with her notebook, her pencil, and her younger brother Finn, hoping to draw the animals she encounters. A small quokka with a friendly expression appears from behind a bush, and Finn hurries toward it for a hug. Ranger Tom intervenes in time and explains that these animals, though they seem approachable, are wild and need space and quiet; crowding or feeding them can frighten them or make them ill. Maya records this in her notebook and starts to view the quokka's smile in a new light.

Later, at the visitor center, Maya transforms what she has learned into a cheerful guide for other children, using drawings, simple advice, and a speech bubble that asks readers to let quokkas stay wild. Finn contributes his own pictures, and Ranger Tom verifies the facts before printing copies for the ferry terminal. This tale by Çınar BİBER can be read on Masalcı Baba and is suited to young readers and to adults reading aloud.
