Lily is a cheerful girl with a gap-toothed smile, yellow rain boots, a red ribbon in her wavy black hair, and a green canvas satchel. One spring morning, she steps into the forest at the edge of her garden and senses something amiss: the air feels too dry, the moss looks pale, and the usual sound of water is missing. Between two tall trees, she encounters a young golden deer with shimmering fur and antlers that glow like warm amber, wearing a collar of leaves and white flowers. The deer's eyes are wet, and it silently leads her toward the heart of the forest, where the spring should be.
On their journey, a small brown owl with huge yellow eyes and a tiny blue scarf becomes their lookout, while a shy brown rabbit wearing an acorn pendant remembers the way to the spring. Together, the four friends reach dry stones and dusty ground where singing water once ran. The owl spots a tangle of fallen branches up the hill, and the group works as a team to clear the dam, branch after branch, until the water breaks free and rushes down the hill again. This gentle tale by Ebru Mina TOMURCUK teaches young children about noticing when something in nature is wrong, asking for help, and solving problems together. It can be read on Onlinemasal Com.Tr.
